Pula Free Tour
At the appointed time, we'll kick off our free tour of Pula from a central spot in the city. After a short introduction, we'll dive into the past of this city in the Peninsula of Istria.
We'll walk to the Trg Forum. In this central city square, we'll admire the Town Hall building's exterior and the Temple of Augustus. Here, we'll learn why this temple was so highly revered by the ancient Romans!
Then, we'll pass under the Serbian Arch, which is no less than 2,000 years old. This elegant arch is decorated with Helenistic-inspired reliefs. We'll stop here to learn how every architectural element has a specific function.
Throughout our tour of Pula, we'll see other vestiges of antiquity, like the Twin and Hercules Gates. Right around the corner from these iconic arches, we'll contemplate the great monumental jewel of Istria: the Arena of Pula. This spectacular Roman amphitheater, whose appearance will surely remind you of the Colosseum in the Italian capital.
Another emblematic spot we'll see will be Tito Park, where we'll discuss Croatia's Yugoslavian past. At this green space, considered a place of historic memory, you'll learn how the traces of socialism remain in Pula's identity.
Finally, after a 2-hour tour, we'll say our goodbyes in the center of Pula.
