Nice Food Tour
Tour Details
When booking, you can choose between a 2.5-hour or a 3.5-hour route. Both options are walking tours led by an English and French-speaking guide. Here's what each one includes:
2.5-Hour Tour
We'll meet at the Fontaine du Soleil on the central Place Masséna and stroll to the Cours Saleya, home to one of Nice's most popular open-air markets. We'll browse its stalls and get a firsthand look at the local produce on offer.
We'll then head into the old town of Nice to visit local shops and food stalls, which vary depending on the season. In total, we'll try 8 typical specialties: 5 artisan cheeses and 3 local products, accompanied by a glass of wine.
While the products vary by time of year, classic treats such as bread, macarons, socca, pissaladière, and salami are always on the menu. We'll talk about all these Mediterranean specialties and their connections to Alpine and Italian cuisine.
We'll wrap up this 2.5-hour route at Place Garibaldi, one of the most beautiful squares in Nice.
3.5-Hour Tour
This option begins at Nice Port, at the Église Notre-Dame du Port.
Our first stop will be at a portside venue, where we'll sit down to taste 3 artisan cheeses of 35 grams each, served with fresh bread and 2 glasses of wine. We'll then continue through the old town of Nice, passing iconic spots such as Place Garibaldi.
Our next stop will be in the heart of the historic center, where we'll try 2 local specialties accompanied by charcuterie and a glass of wine.
We'll wrap up this 3.5-hour food tour of Nice in the area around the Opéra or Place Masséna.
